Our Story: From a Beloved Family Recipe to a Seattle Dessert Favorite

It all started in 1997 with a family visit and a timeless recipe. During her stay in Seattle, my mother began making flan—just like she did back home in Venezuela. What began as a sweet way to share a piece of our culture with local family and friends quickly gained momentum. She began offering her flan to a few nearby Hispanic markets, and it didn’t take long before the word spread and demand took off.

When she returned home, customers kept asking for more—and I knew I had to continue what she started. That’s when Delicias Flan was born.

We began offering our flan to local retailers, and by 2008, expanded into foodservice, giving restaurants throughout the Seattle area the chance to serve a dessert that felt both authentic and indulgent.

Today, we still use that original family recipe as the foundation, while introducing new flavors that surprise and satisfy. Every batch of Delicias Flan is made with care, culture, and the desire to make dessert unforgettable.
